Executive Retreat

03/05/2012
A successful morning all round really, I got all the grass cutting done in one hit and Jane managed to arrive back from the shops with everything she had paid for .She did her physio in the pool later while I watched from my floatie. A good result altogether.
After Tuesdays blip in the weather we are back to the good stuff and whilst we have no need to panic tan we are going to make full use of the pool whilst we have got it to ourselves…….bloody guests arriving next week! Cheek!

Friday night is Centrals night and as usual raffle night. We really don’t want to win any more meat prizes as we are struggling to deal with what we have already won and have stashed in our freezer. So, we just bought 10 bucks worth of tickets as an interest bet and ended up with a big tray of cooked prawns. It’s uncanny the way things go, just wish we could hit the big $30 million lotto……..or even a bit of it.

Another very hot day and with cooler evenings the weather is just about perfect. We took shelter from the sun at the Boat Club with Stephen for the afternoon, topping up last nights intake. It may be good we get away from here, give the liver a rest!

There is a big charity bash at the boat club today and we intended going for the afternoon, but we had a phone call from Glyn and Alana who are spending a long weekend up in the hills above Mossman. Would we like to join them and stay over night?
They have taken a beautiful house for a couple of days, a holiday let, miles from anywhere. It’s about an hour and a half drive from here, in an idyllic situation surrounded by rainforest. There is a 20m infinity swimming pool, which is very refreshing, or to put it another way ‘freezing cold’, well it is compared to ours down at sea level.
We had a BBQ lunch then a quick dip in the pool with Bill, the dog, then sat around with a beer or two chatting and admiring the scenery. That continued until it got dark and time for dinner which we ate out on the deck. Really good to get away from the humidity for a while.
