Maintenance Day

Sat 12 September… Just a day of regrouping after the bush, like washing and bits of van maintenance. A drawer needed the handle screwing back on and a couple of cupboard door hinges have broken so they need replacing. All caused by vibration from driving on crappy, and dirt roads, Peter seems to be always going round with a screwdriver tightening loose screws.
We phoned Vanessa first thing ( at first when we were green we used to get Shipston Medical Centre, now we manage our numbers better!) then did some computerating. An email from Sheldon Bosley to say that they still haven’t let our cottage, which is now getting quite critical as we can’t afford for it to remain empty. We had a look at the Sheldon Bosley web site and they have just 2 houses for rent, in a village, in a 10 mile radius of Shipston and Stratford, ours and 1 in Tredington. Surely someone needs a place to rent. Computerating didn’t take long so we set off to have a look at Townsville and that didn’t take long either as everything seemed to be closing for the weekend. That left us with no alternative but the beach for a couple of hours. It’s been a strange day, hot, humid and very windy. Wind and humidity together doesn’t seem right. Wind or not, we have found the answer to overheating-------we just throw ourselves in the sea!
