To surf or not to surf??

Thurs 20 August… Peter, Robbie and Tobi went down to the beach early to try to catch some waves just after high tide but they were out of luck. There were plenty of waves but it was just too rough and within a few minutes the surf had picked up Tobis board and smacked him in the face. He was not amused so we gave up to try again later. No luck again, so we abandoned the boards to just fool about in the surf. The undertow was so powerful it was impossible to walk back inshore against it and we had to rely on waves to carry us back to the beach. The rest of the day we spent in and out of the water, topping up the tan and generally lazing about. We had a surprise visitor during the afternoon when a parachutist just dropped in, onto the beach. He landed quite close to us then packed up his chute and wandered off, a bit like Granny Jane packing up the Igloo!
Back at our camp we had our regular After Beach V Bs before dinner then later our nightly game of “Aggie” (card game) to be explained later!
