Dummy Runs

Wed 15 July... It's a recce day today as we need to find our way around using as much public transport as we can. First task is to find out how to get to the airport. We have already worked out it would take half a day going by bus and train and too expensive by taxi, so we have to go in the van. A dummy run was needed so we set off after the morning rush, to play at dodgems with the locals. It's well over 30K's and the navigator got us there first go (we and written instructions from the camp office.) At the airport we sussed out where the car park was, didn't stop but got an angry look from a bloke in an orange suit as we drove past the front door, he wasn't carrying table tennis bats though so he couldn't have been very important! Navigator must have burnt out on the outward run as she took us on a couple of wrong turns on the way back. Next job, find the cheapest bottlo, which we achieved with not much trouble. Then we looked at where to catch the River Cat which will take us along the Parramatta River to Sydney Darling Harbour, even that's a half hour drive away. At least, like most places in Oz we can park there all day for free, We bet it's not at the airport!
