Sunday lunch at Bendemeer

Sun 12 July… Another day is planned with Hamish today but before that we hike into town to look for an internet café eventually finding one in the Y H A Hostel. We check our emails-----none then wander back. Hamish picks us up around midday and takes us to a pub in Bendemeer about 40K’s away up in the hills. It’s a big popular pub doing lunches and is set beside Watson’s Creek, it’s a lovely setting and it’s warm enough to sit outside to eat lunch. Such a contrast in temperature in night to day it must alter by 19 degrees or more. We have a couple of hours and a couple of beers nattering about Newbold and stuff, nobody is spared!! Hamish then brings us back to Tamworth and up to a lookout point above the town where we are just in time to watch the sun go down. We have to call into Hamish’s house to say hello to Dram and Jack ( the cat) We get a warm welcome from both, Dram is especially cute. Then it’s back to our house for a stubby or two. A bit more chewing the fat and showing him a few photos on the shiny thing before Hamish has to go, but we both promise to keep in touch. It’s been 2 lovely days and we have met some very nice people, especially Hamish, who, for those who know him, hasn’t changed a bit.
