The Twelve Apostles the other way!

Thurs 5 Feb today we have a role reversal the navigator is promoted to pilot and Peter travels first class and views the scenery. Thats the deal because we are going back along thr Great Ocean Road and as P drove it from west to east and only saw the sights when we stopped, navigator was volunteered to drive east to west. It isn't an easy drive as it is winding and narrow. We say goodbye to old Jack and the koalas and the parakeets and hit the road. The coast road to Apollo bay is really spectacular( Peter loves it) then we lose the coast for a while to drive over the mountains and thro forests, emerging at Princetown and the Twelve Apostles. There are a lot more people about than there were when we were here 7 or 8 weeks ago,but whats left of the apostles is still standing, nothing has fallen down.Wehave a quick whizz round and take photos, probably identical to the ones we took before, then on to Peterborough, stopping at every site on the way, taking lots more photos. We agree that whilst this part of the ocean road could be the eigth wonder of the world, but seeing it the second time, it's still great but lacking the WOW factor of the first view. At Peterborough we head inland for Colac on the Prince's Highway, 20 minutes later we are back in Peterborough, curtesey of a non existent road ( well it wasn't on Peters map anyway) there is a stony silence from the pilot! After 6 hours sweating over a hot steering wheel we arrive at our destination, a site that will do well for one night. Tomorrow we head for Melbourne ( again) Evening meal was interesting as the navigator forgot to shop, too busy playing pilots. Turned out to be snags, onions and garlic, baked beans and a spud between us.
