Mission Beach and back to Cairns
30/10/2012
Mission Beach maybe a favourite holiday destination, and it is a very nice resort, but the fish and chips are crap! As nice as it is, we were keen to get going on the last leg up to Cairns and in particular, Clifton Beach.
We arrived mid afternoon and were immediately made welcome by Julie who has us organised and parked in the yard next to the swimming pool.
So far we have spent a few hours catching up on the goings on here at Clifton with Phil and Julie. We have been invited to a few functions already starting with a birthday party at the Macnamaras on Saturday night. The Macs have a beautiful house and we have been sounded out to house sit for them soon , they are going on an extended trip down to Sydney. All this has to be finalised, dates and such.
So, that’s it , we are here now until the New Year when we will then start our long journey home. In the meantime we have a couple of months in Paradise!

It’s like we have never been away. I met up with Allen this morning when he picked me up to go for coffee with the boys and to put the world to rights. Jane had coffee and a chat with Lorraine Millar and has been re-acquainted with her pink bike, which only needed it’s tyres pumped up. She has been to the shops on it and has been roped in for Aquafit in the pool here with a gang of ladies. ( I will just spectate and take some sneaky photos.)
Although there are plenty of things going on, Clifton Beach is as laid back as anywhere, you don’t rush around in this heat. It’s so laid back the local paramedic (volunteer) first responder is an old lady on a zimmer frame! Altogether there seems no problem settling down to the old routine such as an early evening beer on the beach followed by a Barbie and a few more beers. Wonderful to be back.
