We worked quite hard yesterday, the plan being we could take it easy this morning, as it’s Good Friday. We didn’t want to make a racket mowing and leaf blowing first thing. The intention was to lounge around in the pool until lunchtime then later call for the bus to take us to Centrals. As it turned out we did get in the pool but there was a lot of cloud around today which alters the temperature a bit, so it was a short spell, just long enough for Stumpy to do her physio, but not a tanning day.
Doing not much is boring so we got ready early and rang for the bus. No reply. Then it dawned on us…….We knew the shops were shut all day and then we realised that we hadn’t had a service bus come round all day, meaning the whole of Australia shuts down on Good Friday! No Pub! It seems the only place you will get a drink is at the Catholic church. We resigned ourselves to a beer on the beach, and a night in with a few stubbies and a bit of tele , unless they are on holiday too!

After yesterdays no show day ( it reminded us of life in the 1950s)we had a repeat performance doing very little during the morning, then a bit of a thrash at the boat club in the afternoon. It’s just such a joy sitting on the deck there overlooking the marina with a few cold ones though the glare from the sea and the yachts can be a bit of a nuisance!! Hey ho such is life.
Our shiny thing, (thinking of things that glare,) seems to be getting very tired, it is rather old. It doesn’t like us skyping so our weekly chat with family in Shipston is now done on public telephone, calls on mobiles being too expensive. Looks like a visit to the shiny thing shop is imminent!

Another very quiet day with a possible Matildas, which didn’t happen. Only Allen and Lorraine turned up, with apologies from Glyn and Alana, Glyn not feeling well. We had another bus ride out to Yorkeys Knob for the Afternoon then back to Clifton. After several more schooners Jane put on the TV to watch Waking the Dead, very apt as she slept all the way through it!

Had much better success with skype this morning. They could see us but not hear us, we could see and hear them so we were reduced to scribbling notes and holding them up to the magic eye! They swapped their computer then for another and lo and behold, it worked. I was convinced that it was our shiny thing that was knackered.
Great news to hear that grandson Robbie played his first game for Gloucester academy under16s in full Gloucester kit.
As it’s Easter weekend we set about it as we would back in the UK………pub, more pub and point to point racing on Easter Monday or, if wet, …….in the pub. So, today as it wasn’t wet here we went to the pub anyway.
We tried hard not to have too much as we treated ourselves to a very nice lobster and some prawns we bought yesterday. Right now we are stuffed, a 1 kilo lobbie and half a pint of prawns with some green tack is plenty, could be an early night.
