Tues 14 October… A much more productive day today. We have booked our flights home, leaving Cairns via Brisbane to Dubai then Brum, on 29 October, 2 weeks away . All very expensive when we could have used our return tickets 2 weeks ago, but then we were convinced somebody would take our cottage for 6 months. It will be different next time and Sheldon Bosley won’t be in the equation, that’s for sure.
We had another first today, we actually sold some stuff in a pawnbrokers, the Aussies call them a cash converters, but whatever, we got rid of some excess baggage. There was a little tear in the Navigators eye as she said farewell to her beloved igloo, (not a lot of call for it in the U K!) We also found a warehouse that sells cardboard boxes for removals, all we need to do now is fill them up and hope that the Post Office will deliver them, as they are rather large. Our Van Man in Perth has emailed and there doesn’t seem to be too much to worry about apart from having to pay $2,000 to have the van returned to Perth. Wheels are beginning to turn.
