Rainbow beach in the surf

Sat 1 August… Now we have found the start of decent weather we are making the most of it and having a day on the beach. Rainbow Beach is a really nice place, apart from the beautiful beach there is also a small shopping complex with everything that we want so this morning we did a bit of shopping before going off to throw ourselves into the sea. The sun is quite strong for about 4 hours around the middle of the day, just enough to top up the tan before being driven off the beach by the chill for an A B B (after beach beer) We have great fun in the surf though at times it could be a little dangerous. The waves come in with such force they knock you off your feet, then the undercurrent drags you out before another wave whacks you onto the beach, and fills your pants with sand!! Not easy to surf, surf really messy. We had a couple of beers at the Rainbow Beach Surf Club which has a balcony overlooking the bay, another million dollar view.
