Brisbane
Sun 23 August… It was only a 90K run down the motorway and after a brief skirmish with the outskirts of Brisbane we landed at Newmarket Garden Van Park, Ashgrove. We were here by midday and spent the rest of the day reading and sunbathing in the +30 C heat. Vanessa, Robbie and Tobi spent some time cleaning their van and generally mucking it out ready for handing it back tomorrow. This site is a typical transit type camp with shiny vans being the ones just picked up and the grubby vans the ones being returned. It’s not possible to do a proper cleaning job as there is a water shortage. Fortunately there is no shortage of V B. After dinner and a game of Aggie, we held a debrief with the boys and chatted about the highs and lows of the last 6 weeks. Overall, not too many lows, we have packed lots in and it’s gone too quickly. We are really going to miss them when they are gone.
