Fri 22 May… Another day on the beach after waking up to fog!! Well a damp mist and what passes for dew here in Oz. We are on an economy day today so we got the igloo out for shade instead of hiring sun beds and umbrella, it wasn’t our usual deckchair man today so we may have had to pay the top rate. As it happened we hardly needed sun beds anyway as the surf was up and we spent most of the day on the boards. Navigator passed her Surfing Proficiency Badge by catching a big one and overtaking the pilot at speed not stopping until beached! It was Peters turn to tangle with the jellyfish stingers they had a good go at his leg and bum---no photos to follow! A few lumps of ice from the eskie placed delicately and with feeling in the required region plus a few dabs of vinegar got it sorted. Luckily these are just your average stingers and not the nasties. A couple of A B B’s and a quick trip to the bottlo where there is a special on V B , 40 bucks for a slab of 30. Rounded off the day nicely.
Sat 23 May… Nothing much to report today, being beach bums doesn’t cough up much excitement. We had to get to the beach early to catch the surf and the tide. High tides are mid morning and late evening which doesn’t suit. Anyway the navigator is in recovery with another north-western Aussie rash, so less time in the surf and a Savlon moment should sort it. Too much sand in the wrong place. No photos to follow!
