Sun 17 May… it’s a funny old life whaen you are travelling, when you are not actually travelling, and the weather is not very good. We are at a bit of a loss what to do . It’s so easy to pack the swimmers, fill up the Eskie and head for the beach but last night we had a bit of a storm - some rain but mostly wind and sand blown about and today is forecast no better. We spent the morning doing a few chores, computerating and cooking a full breakfast whilst dodging the rain showers. It is impossible to sit around the van all day, we would go stir crazy, so we drove to Cable beach and had a walk along the surf. They do the evening camel safari along the beach here and the camels had just arrived when we were there. Got a few photos before heading for the pub. At the pub you have a job to get away from all the T Vs in the bar so we watched a bit of Aussie Rules football which doesn’t seem to have many rules at all. Still it was better than watching footballers throwing tantrums and pushing one another.
Mon 18 May… After the blip in the weather for the last few days it’s back to situation normal. We awake to clear blue skies and warm sunshine, but a womans work and all that… the navigator has to do some laundry before we hit the beach. ( She gets all excited about clean bed linen!) Lunch, a swim and a sunbathe before we know it, it’s A B B at the Roey--- The Roebuck-- what a life.

And here we are hoping to greet summer in New England. We're fortunate if we have three warm months of the year. Do you ever tire of the sun and heat? And, are you doing daily crossword puzzles to keep the synapses exercised? Olivia Ruth is heavy into bicycling at the moment, got 3 gold medals at the New Hampshire Senior Games this past Sunday. I've pictures that I hope to send before long. Not sure to where.
ReplyDeleteAs for me? I'm attempting my second cycling effort from work to home today. Only a twenty-eight miler, ah, 45 klicks. Life is being lived at a gentle pace. Carry on carrying on.
