Another Bloody Puncture!

Sun 26 April….. Had to move from this idyllic place, 70Ks to Kununnurra, first town of any size after the border with Northern territory. The scenery from Lake Argyle to here is stunning. Huge red sandstone mountains and gorges with many rivers and creeks to cross. Sometimes it’s a job to concentrate on driving as there is so much to look at. It’s just as well there is very little traffic, in fact we can drive for half an hour or more without seeing another vehicle. We stop at the supermarket in Kununnurra which is very well stocked considering the remoteness of the place. We get every thing that we need have that feeling that things seem to be going very well. Then as always, something jumps up and bites you in the bum!-------- Another puncture! This time we are a bit more handily placed and we can pull off the road plus it’s a front wheel which is easier to change. Another kind Aussie bloke pulled up and offered a hand although Peter had nearly done the job. It never ceases to amaze us how kind people can be. The $40 jack has come into it’s own a bit quicker than we would have liked, but was a huge boon. Eventually we arrive at our campsite an we will be here until we can get another$300 tyre! It’s a public holiday tomorrow ( Anzac Day) and so everything will be closed ----such is our luck! They have WiFi on this camp or so they say , but so far we haven’t been able to get connected. To compound Peters mood it is raining. The sun sets at 5.30 here in W A but today it disappeared an hour earlier because of the dense rain clouds. It’s also gone humid again. Another sweaty night!!
