Renmark

Peter was right, where there is poo there is roo!!Saw them skipping about the van last night. Up early and pack up, not because we are moving on but because we are going to a phone box which is 2 and a half Ks away. We are in a different time zone again now that we are back in South Australia, just 10 and a half hours behind instead of 11, which means we have to phone earlier to catch people before they go to bed. Job done we return to camp to make breakfast.Peter is doing egg and bacon on George the gorrilla, not very successfully. He hadn't noticed the slope on the table and so when he cracked the eggs onto the griddle they promptly slid off the front! He quickly caught them and navigator thought it was hilarious. He didn't tell her that it was hers that fell on the floor!
Eventually after several hiccoughs( like no water for a shower then the washing machine stopping for no reason) we get out for a ride around. We call at the tourist info office where they are showing a video of the length of the Murray river. As we are not in a hurry and it looks like rain (washing on line!) we decide to stay and watch it. We realised that we have actually travelled the whole length of the river, from when we first picked it up in Renmark ( the last time we were here) and travelled down to Goolwa, below Adelaide to the mouth, then picked it up again 2 weeks ago at the source in the snowy mountains and followed it back to Renmark. The river flows a distance of 2,530K.
After a walk along Renmark wharf we decided to have lunch at Lock 5 on the Murray taking the tourist route out of town. Drove through orchards and vineyards and then ran out of signs and got hopelessly lost. it was like being in a grape maze! Found lock 5 in the end but no nothing going on, lock keeper gone home. Back tocamp where the boaties are still rattling up and down the riverdoing doing a thing called Kneeboarding, which looks like waterski-ing for the disabled.
