Well if the world has ended it missed out on Northern Queensland as we are in extremely rude health considering we just had a second night on the pop. We may feel differently in the morning. Centrals Christmas draw tonight was more successful for us than last night though we didn’t win any of the 4 $250 draws for members. We did win a huge meat tray which will be very useful over the next few days. We could have chosen an enormous ham as our prize but we already have one organised for Christmas day lunch.
Kevin and Joan should be home this evening so now we are down to just the one job to attend to.

After a leisurely morning, now we have just got the Ponderosa to look after, Jane joined the “Ladies what lunch club” They are a bunch of ladies who enjoy each others company, good food and substantial quantities of alcohol, they are known as W O W
….women on wine. Alana and Julie are the organisers with a total of nine in all getting “on it” Today it was the turn of Palm Cove Surf club, a different venue each time. Phil, Glyn and me met up with them early evening to find them in good form and not ready to go home. After a couple of beers in Apres they decided to finish off the evening in the local Greek Taverna, with us blokes invited.
The girls have had a really nice day, Jane likening it to the “The Real W I” get togethers held some time ago in the UK.
As I write this she is slumped over the shiny thing studying it with eyes slammed shut…….That’s my girl!!

Jane is in remarkable condition this morning which she put down to “not enough champagne” last night. She was well enough to potter around the Ponderosa then shop at good old Dans for essential supplies, where we met most of the population of the Northern Beaches on the same mission. Murphy must have sold enough booze today to have sunk a cruise ship.
The forecast is for some much needed rain and we actually had a sprinkle today. It lasted less than a minute but the moment it stopped and the sun came out, you could feel the humidity increase dramatically. This is probably the most humid, sultry day we have had so far.
This afternoon we were at the boat club with my brother (it’s all getting very predictable) and later we had a visit from Allen and Lorraine who’s company we always look forward to. They didn’t stay long , looks like an early night for a change, except we are so far behind with our blog I may stop up and do some typing.
