Once again we have been bitten on the bum…..the shiny thing mysteriously gave up the ghost overnight and stopped working. It was fine yesterday but didn’t want to play this morning. We took it to a computer menders where there was a 14yr old computer magician who waved his wand over it for a couple of hours and now it’s OK again. He has uninstalled bloatware, cleared wi fi settings, installed some windows updates and polished it! How do I know all this stuff?…….because it’s on his bloody bill! The rates he charges he will be a millionaire before he’s 25.
What with his bill and a pair of supa dupa walking shoes I ordered and collected it’s been rather an expensive day. The shoes are really good (batteries not included) and now I should be able to get about like a long dog.
The day was totally buggered so we did jobs. I mopped the deck and Jane hovered, really exciting!

Another trip on the catamaran today only this time we went the opposite way, out towards the mouth of the Brisbane River. We nearly got as far as the massive motorway toll bridge, which runs parallel to the coast, but the cat turned round before we reached there. It’s quite a sight and we would have loved to have gone under it.
Along this part of the river live the rich folk of Brizzy, all the waterfront houses have their own boat and mooring, beautiful houses with beautiful boats.
We had lunch at the posh peoples food hall again, this time I chanced sushi, I won’t be rushing back to try it again. Stodgy rice in a black tube with pink raw fish (tuna), tasteless prawns, soy sauce in little tubes, coloured root ginger and green mustard. I thought the whole thing was bizarre, fairly tasteless and would be even worse if you were colour blind.
We caught the train back to Fortitude Valley where we were told that there were a lot of street musicians. We were a month early…….so we settled for a beer in the pub and sat outside watching the world go by.
I can go much quicker in my new pumps!

We have decided to go up to Rainbow beach, a lovely little resort north of Brisbane on the Sunshine Coast. We will go on Monday for three nights then return to cardiac hill for the weekend. Rainbow beach is a good way off the highway with just a mini-mart and a butcher and baker, meaning not a lot of choice and all top dollar. So, today we have shopped and stocked up with goodies as we would for an outback trip.
We have been to see good old Dan Murphy who is doing some great deals on wine at the moment. I have discovered an excellent cabernet merlot cleanskins selling at $9 a bottle, which has to be a 25 buck label, 2009 and a gold medal winner. If I could get it in the U K I would fill my shed with it, it’s that good. I would love to load up the van with it, but what I save would go on extra diesel for the weight! Can’t win ‘em all!
