Can’t remember the last time we did a days work, we did one today. Our friends Glyn and Alana are trying to sell their house and are in the process of tarting it up. We have spent the day painting and gardening, getting the place ready for a viewing on Friday. This another beautiful house, very big with a pool and lovely veranda, which seems to be pretty much standard for the houses we have visited here in Oz. Everyone mucked in, about 7 of us and we got heaps done. We are pleased to help as it is one way of repaying the kindness and friendship we have received here in Clifton Beach.

Did a few more hours at Glyns finishing off, with any luck I should be redundant, not used to this manual labour. After a mornings work, a 10 walk back along the beach then a dip in the pool to cool off has got to be the way to go. Followed that with just lazing about on the sun lounger for the afternoon. Can’t get better!
Swimming in the sea is out at the moment, the helicopters have been up today as crocs or sharks have been spotted so confined to the pool.

Not quite redundant as we helped round at Glyn and Alanas, Jane going berserk with their power washer, cleaning the deck. ….she wants one now!
It’s Phils 60th birthday party tomorrow and people are beginning to arrive for the weekends celebrations. The party is to be held at Clifton Capers Bar and Restaurant but we had a dummy run around the BBQ tonight. There were 10 of us but tomorrow there will be 40 plus, some of them we have already met and are beginning to struggle remembering names.

Bonfire Night, probably the warmest ever. Spent most of the day either in the sea or in the pool. It isn’t quite the same swimming inside the stinger net, but at least we can be fairly confident there are no crocs or jellies in there.
We appear to have big problems with the shiny thing. It just doesn’t seem to want to work, so we could be out of comms for a while until we get it fixed.
Phils party was great, lots of nice people, loads of food and drink and a very good girl singer. Julie on form as usual, organising everybody, even giving Phils speech of thanks 10 minutes after he had done it! Then it was back to our unit until 2am.
