Roamin at Last

03/06/2011

We have made our way west to the coast and the small seaside town of Jurien Bay which ,again, appears to have everything we need, including 2 places of very special interest. The journey over was uneventful and rain free, in fact it was quite warm and sunny,21C. The landscape is typically Western Australian , red sandy ground with just enough vegetation to feed a billion sheep.
Our campsite is 1 minutes walk to the beach and 2 minutes walk to the shops. We have a nice grassy area and now we have a foldaway table and 2 chairs, so we can cook, eat and sit outside. Still no internet.

Back to normal with the weather. After yesterdays warm sunshine it’s very dull, overcast and blowing a cold hooley. We have just watched all the children on the campsite going off to the beach dressed in their Ugg boots, jackets and beanie hats! -------Bank holiday Australia style, Monday being Federation Day.
Found an internet in town, but it was in poor shape ,though we did manage to get off a couple of emails.
Walked the coastal path to Jurien Marina which would be very nice with the sun shining, but it is pretty dismal and to cap it all we are both suffering with blisters, a legacy (footasie) of tramping round Perth .

Much better day, woke to clear blue sky, but still that cold wind blowing off shore. We walked the other way along the coastal path a distance of 2 Ks and watched tandem sky divers landing on the beach, it seem that Jurien Bay is the In Place to do sky diving. Walked back along the beach, lovely white sand but very soft and seemed to double the walk back but it was lovely to walk with bare feet. Both knackered so time to relax after lunch before lurching off to the pub!
