Solonga Wonga
Tues 13 October… so that was Wonga, we left this morning and returned to Cairns to stay at Lake Placid, 15K’s north of Cairns city. We spent all afternoon on a wild goose chase trying to find a shipping agent who would send our dive equipment and other stuff back to the U K. There doesn’t seem to be anyone who will do the job door to door like the U K shippers did when we came last year. After traipsing round Cairns trying to find someone to do the job, it looks like Australia Post are favourites. The shippers were either too expensive and would only deliver as far as London Docks, we would have then had to go and collect, or they only did container loads. So all we need now are a couple of cardboard boxes to pack the stuff in then stick a stamp on them------here’s hoping!! This is just the start, we are still waiting to hear from our Van Man in Perth and the thought of booking flights online knowing the vagaries of Aussie I T leaves us full of dread. We are depressed, very depressed, enough to turn us to drink!!
