A day out in Cairns

Wed 7 October… it seems we are beginning to act rather Australian which is bit worrying. This morning we decided to just pop into Cairns for the day, that’s nearly a 200K round trip, something the Aussies wouldn’t think twice about. A similar journey in the U K for business purposes is fine but just to go, have lunch and walk around seems a bit extravagant. I suppose we did achieve a result by calling in at a caravan/motor home dealership to enquire what sort of money we could expect from selling our van privately. We were disappointed when they offered us less than the buy back deal we already have in writing from the people in Perth from whom we bought the van, so plan B is scuppered. We also checked out flights but we will probably have to leave from Brisbane which is a pain. Anyway it’s still up in the air ( pun intended) as we await news from Sheldon Bosley. In Cairns the navigator did some food shopping for the next 3 days as we are out on a limb here at Wonga Beach, but she left it in the shop 90K’s away. We won’t be popping back for it.
