Hysterical sites

Tues 29 September… One more night in Wonga Beach before we head north to Cooktown. We reckon we have seen most of what there is to see around here, including the WW 11 Historic Bomb Site---------No joke! It seems the Japanese Airforce in 1942 dumped a couple of bombs in a field near here and a bit of shrapnel wounded a baby in her cot. There is now a commemorative stone sculpture depicting a bomb, in memory of the one person( civilian in total) to be injured in Eastern Australia during the whole of the war ------ you couldn’t make it up! We saw this historic site on our way back from shopping in Mossman as we are stocking up for our trip to Cooktown. What an exciting life this is!
It’s an odd time of the year Spring the blossom is out, the birds are pairing up and nest building and the sea water is much warmer, but not seen any daffs though! The thing is, what happened to winter? Apart from what nature is up to there is hardly any difference.
