Tully Heads and Hull Heads

Fri 26 June… Managed to get some computerating done last night, snail pace of course and ran out of prepaid time before the last of our pictures was uploaded. Listened to the rain on the roof for the first time for goodness knows how long, but it didn’t last more than a few minutes.
Nothing planned for today apart from a trip to the beach. We were told it was just 1 K away so we decided to walk but after 15 mins we turned back and went and got the van. It turned out to be 3Ks away (2 miles) -----too far in flip flops. The beach is fabulous, miles of golden sand and palm fringed. There are signs saying beware of crocs and stingers, it’s the wrong time of the year for the nasty stingers and we have only seen crocs in muddy estuaries, never sunning themselves on beautiful sandy beaches, so Peter ignored the signs and went swimming. There are lots of fishermen here in Tully Heads but mostly they go off for the day in their small boats to fish around the islands that are all along this part of the coast. Some of them beach cast, but not many, and so mostly we have the beach to ourselves. We think we may stay here for a few days and do days out. We don’t really want to go any further north just to turn round and come back again.
