Sydney Day 1

Sat 18 July... Peter hasn't had a hangover for 9 months and now that that Faulkner woman has turned up.......guess what!!!? he's had a head like Birkenhead all day and whats more, those boys have eaten all our bread!! After last nights welcoming party we were up early to catch the river cat to Circular Quay for a days sightseeing. First stop, the Opera House, probably the most photographed building in the southern hemisphere, but we never get tired of looking at it. Photos to follow. After giving it our best attention we walked back around the quay to the Rocks and into David Campeses' rugby shop, where Robbies first word to his Mother was "wallet" it's a super shop and a fortune could be spent in there. Had a look round the market, tried a Turkish spinach and feta pancake delish! and visited Tourist Info for map. We then had a bit of a trek across the city to Darling Harbour and the Sydney Aquarium. It's fantastic with and underwater glass tunnel allowing us to be up close to some of the nasties! We saw sharks, rays turtles, and all manner of fish, the highlight for us being the Dugongs. We also saw Crocs, one freshwater and one salty. It was an excellent couple of hours. Later we stopped for a coffee and sat out in the sunshine before walking back to Circular Quay where we listened to the digeridoo players. Tried to ring John but the Navigator got her sums wrong and it was only about 6 30am!No wonder there was no reply!Caught the Cat back to Rydalmere and the van. A lovely day out and everyone shattered, and the Navigator has blisters.
