Forster N S W
Wed 22 July… Rain overnight and a dull cloudy morning meant that we weren’t in such a rush to go out, so we set about bacon sandwiches before going off on a shopping trip for more essential supplies. Although it’s a dull day it’s still quite warm as we went to have a look at Forsters Beaches, there are 3 or 4. We all piled into Vanessa’s’ van for the short trip to One Mile Beach, where a few hardy Australian youngsters were surfing. Peter and the Navigator would have shown them a thing or two but our boards were in the van back at base! Forster has a town beach with a sea water swimming pool at one end and a breakwater at the other. We stood on the breakwater and spotted a dolphin in the surf, but he didn’t stay for very long. Robbie and Tobi are like a couple of puppies and seemed determined to get wet. Robbie did manage a short swim in the sea pool, but Tobi needed some assistance from Grandad getting into the pool! He was out as quick as he went in. The weather will get warmer as we go north, just hope the sea does the same.
